In the ever-changing economic landscape, small business owners and entrepreneurs are in search of creative fundraising methods.  Enter crowdfunding, the practice of funding a project or venture by raising many small amounts of money from a large number of people, typically via the Internet.  But what does it actually entail, and how can your business make use of it?  All too often used as a "buzzword" in recent months, crowdfunding offers you the opportunity to source capital from $200 to over $1,000,000 through exclusive pre-sales, equity, debt, or donations.  In this webinar, Entrepreneur Maxim Wheatley (C'13) will introduce you to this crowdfunding, the various platforms available, and how to best approach a project.

Maxim Wheatley has been instrumental in raising over $120,000 through crowdfunding projects for clients in the past year – taking projects from conception to completion. A 2013 graduate of the college, Maxim now works at Fortify Ventures, a DC based venture capital firm and startup accelerator. He is also co-founder of Georgetown Consulting Group, an entrepreneurial firm bringing crowdfunding, marketing, and technology services to startups and small businesses (launching this autumn).  You can visit his website at
