Great ideas and organizations spread because they tell a compelling story that people want to share.  Storytelling has been a significant component of human tradition for thousands of years. In today's connected society, it is more important than ever to leverage the power of word of mouth marketing to empower your tribe to share your story.

In this webinar, social entrepreneur Mike Malloy (MS’12) will provide an overview of various word of mouth marketing techniques that he has implemented in to the culture of his own company, Waveborn. You will learn several strategies, tips, and tricks to better promote your own story and make it easier for others to share it and drive awareness.  Waveborn has seen exponential growth over the past three years, which is largely a result of the word of mouth marketing and storytelling strategies that Malloy and his team have implemented.

Mike Malloy is a professional frisbee player who travels the world selling sunglasses and helping people.  After four years at Deloitte Consulting, Malloy caught the entrepreneurial bug and knew he could not spend the rest of his life wearing a suit, sitting in a cube, and climbing the corporate ladder.  He is now the CEO at Waveborn, a social good sunglasses company that donates a pair of prescription glasses or funds a portion of a cataract surgery for every pair of luxury Italian shades they sell. Malloy coaches Georgetown's ultimate frisbee team, serves on the leadership team for Hoya Gateway, and is always looking for ways to support the entrepreneurial ecosystem on the Hilltop.  He received his B.S. from Boston College in 2008 and his M.S. in Computer Science from Georgetown in 2012.
